Bernhard Wrabetz, Austrian Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Austrian Business Agency and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, have the pleasure to invite you to the fireside chat “State of blockchain 2025 – more than just a crypto asset?” on 11 June 2025 in London. Originally introduced by Bitcoin in 2008, the blockchain technology was envisioned as a tool for rethinking the role of governments, currencies, and financial institutions. Today, however, financial institutions actively trade crypto assets on organized markets, and the US government plans to accumulate crypto assets and back US dollar stablecoins. What implications does this have for blockchain’s initial goals and its future potential?
